If you think anything like I do, you have no interest in shooting sunrise in Death Valley from the traditional vantage points. Badwater, Zabriskie, and Dante’s View are all highly played out and nothing more than photo-tourist hell. I don’t discount the beauty of those places, but what I do discount is taking the same photograph that hundreds of thousands of other people have taken each and every year.
On a recent trip in the Valley, I was taking some clients to the Racetrack for an early morning photo shoot. Just as we turned off Scotty’s Castle Road and onto Ubehebe Crater Road the first rays of the sun began hitting the peaks of the Last Chance Mountain Range. I will shut up, and allow the photographs to do the talking.
