Sunrise from Ubehebe Crater (Death Valley National Park)

If you think anything like I do, you have no interest in shooting sunrise in Death Valley from the traditional vantage points. Badwater, Zabriskie, and Dante’s View are all highly played out and nothing more than photo-tourist hell. I don’t discount the beauty of those places, but what I do discount is taking the same photograph that hundreds of thousands of other people have taken each and every year.

On a recent trip in the Valley, I was taking some clients to the Racetrack for an early morning photo shoot. Just as we turned off Scotty’s Castle Road and onto Ubehebe Crater Road the¬†first rays of the sun began hitting the peaks of the Last Chance Mountain Range. I will shut up, and allow the photographs to do the talking.
